Visiting Vóvó and Grandpa

We have spent the last 3 weeks at my parents' house, so Noah has been spending a lot of quality time with my mom and dad. It has been nice to visit and to get some breaks to run to the store alone or go to yoga!!

New Camera

For Christmas (I know, it hasn't happened yet) my wonderful husband got me a new 'fancy' camera and let me open it a bit early so I could start using it :) Poor Noah has been the subject of many a photo-shoot, but I am loving it. Now I just have to learn to use all of the buttons. It's amazing how much photography has changed since I used to do it in High School and process actual film (do they even sell that anymore??). It's also amazing (in a sad, sad way) how much of the technical side of photography I have forgotten since High School, but that's a story for another day...

Boston Reunion

I had to make sure to get in a visit with my college friends who live in the Boston area (plus Lauren who actually lives in NYC but came up to Boston for the weekend). It was so great to see everyone and all the new babies! Leah so kindly hosted the party even though she is mother to a toddler and a less than one month old! She is clearly superwoman. It was also an important visit because the Boston ladies are dwindling by 2 (the Lindsay's are moving to new cities).

Jumping Bean

Noah has (over the course of 2.5 weeks- which is insane) grown into the jumper we borrowed from my mother's colleague and finally gets the jumping concept. He is totally digging it.

Sitting!

First sit (please excuse my gigantic mess)- watching the news with Grandpa
He can't get there himself yet, but Noah can balance himself in a sitting position for a little while (then he topples).

Visiting the Lerner/Daltons!

After going down to Matt's Parent's house, we rounded out our tour of New Jersey with a stop back in our town of Hoboken. Of course, we have renters, so graciously as always our dear friends and cousins Pete & Danielle let us stay. A special thanks to Olivia & Natalie who bunked together so we could have our own room :)

A Very Vernaglia Thanksgiving!

After missing the Vernaglia Thanksgiving for the past 2 years we FINALLY got to attend. My cousin Dave, who is a man of many talents, has been hosting this holiday in his awesome barn (heated) for the past few years. It is the original 'Farm to Table' (all the veggies are from his garden) and even the pancetta came from a pig he hung himself. The food was ridiculously phenomenal- he smoked the turkey... SO GOOD. (It was so good I can't even describe it in proper sentences.) There was even a bonfire in the backyard. It was a seriously fantastic way to spend Thanksgiving.

Noah's First Trip to the US

November 19th: Finally packed and ready to go. Car scheduled for 7:15am the next morning. Noah had is 4 month doctor appointment (vaccines included) that morning. He had gotten pretty cranky throughout the day (surprising since his 2 month shots didn't affect him at all), and I gave him a little paracetamol (tylenol).

November 20th: Noah wakes up in the night vomiting. At 5:00am he feels hot... his temperature is 39.7 (103.5)... YIKES. He vomits again. I call the medical advice hotline since we are flying later that morning. They say I should come in since we are going on such a long flight and that the temperature seems a bit high for vaccinations. Off Noah and I trek to the Kinderspital. Fast forward to 9:00am... there's no way we can make our flight, and the doctor recommends we don't fly anyway. Luckily Noah's temperature has responded to tylenol and that was the end of the vomiting.

November 21st: Flight to the US- take 2. Made it safe & sound.

Lessons Learned: No more vaccination appointments the day before traveling.  Trip insurance is a good idea when you have an infant.

Anyway, we are home and happy to be here :)

Off to a good start!
and this is just the carry-ons :o(
Hiding boston from the stewardess... she just didn't want to stay in her bag!
The next day... better rested and happy to be home (and ready for Thanksgiving dinner!)

4 Months Old (yesterday)

I blame it on trying to get everything together for our trip home while Matt has been working 7 days a week for the past few weeks. I forgot to post pics for Noah's 4-month birthday. Oh well, better a day late than never...

Noah the Banana

On Halloween Noah and I went to a party at our friends' restaurant. A local photographer (who also happens to be doing our family photo shoot on Friday) was there doing quick pics of the kids in their costumes:

Noah Rolled Over (intentionally)

So sometimes amid my mommy outings, housework, and other activities, I forget to do 'tummy time' with Noah. Well, today I remembered! I put him down on the mat and went to get my camera. I am busy turning on the video and getting focused when I realize Noah is mid-roll over! This was his first legit roll- over (it happened a couple of times when he was 5 or 6 weeks old, but he was really upset, crying like a banshee and I think it was more of a coincidence of him writhing in anger- so it doesn't REALLY count).

Luckily I got the very end of his first roll-over. Then of course we had to tape it again for posterity :)
