Exploring Switzerland with Grammy, Aunt Roe & Uncle Jack

Sunday (very early) we went on a little trip with the family. We took the train to Chur, and then from there took the Bernina Express, which is a scenic train that weaves through the Alps, all the way to northern Italy. The train ended in Tirano, Italy, at which point we had a quick lunch then boarded a bus to Lugano, which is in the Italian part of Switzerland. We spent the night in Lugano and took a train directly back to Zürich on Monday afternoon.

Grammy, Aunt Roe, and Uncle Jack Visit!

Later the same day that Matt's mom arrived, his Aunt Roe and Uncle Jack came in on the train after a trip to Paris. Sadly they are all leaving tomorrow, but we had an action packed vacation with them.

On the first two days we just relaxed around the house and explored Zürich.

Grammy is Here!!

On Thursday morning (the 13th), Matt's mom arrived to visit. We started the day with some quality time together. In the afternoon Matt's Aunt Roe and Uncle Jack came (more on that later).

Matt's mom also brought Matt's baby pictures. The resemblance is uncanny:

Fantastic Gifts from our Artistic Friends

Not only are we lucky that we have so many caring and thoughtful friends, we are also fortunate enough to have some terribly artistic ones as well.

My best friend Jenn and her husband and mother created this amazing Red Sox mobile for Noah. It is so special and unique!

My dear friend and former roommate Melissa (also a designer by trade) created a slew of custom wall art for us. It may be hard to tell from my photos, but there are a bunch of special details in the city pictures. On the Boston print the street signs are the intersection Melissa & I used to live at. On the Zürich picture there is a paddleboat with a pregnant me, Matt, and Boston on board- one of our favorite summertime activities here.

New Friends

Today we went for a walk around the lake with some of the girls I met while I was pregnant and their new babies. No, we did not pose them like this, Helena reached out for the boys and they reached back. It was totally cute! Noah is actually the oldest, though Jack (on the right) looks -and is- bigger. All the babies are within a month of each other.

Noah's first yoga class

Yesterday we went to our first mommy-baby yoga class. Noah was a rock star and didn't cry at all. He was awake the whole time and really seemed to dig it. The teacher commended his head strength and his good behavior.

First 'Social' Smile

For the past week we have seen some smiles that we suspected might be more than just gas, but we weren't REALLY sure. This morning though, we got a bundle of actual, non-bowel related smiles in response to our smiles!

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, I was having trouble smiling and aiming the camera at the same time...

Went to hang with our friends at Fork & Bottle. It's a little chilly tonight!
